G'day all. Camping/watching prom home videos is good fun....As is Ben Folds!

Make me feel tiny if it makes you feel tall,
there's always someone cooler than you.
Yeah you're the shit but you won't be it for long,
There's always someone cooler than you...
Yay!

You know your family is weird when your mom gets random birthday cards from Botswana.

Hello all, it's been awhile. Went to the summerspiel at Rice Lake, had a good time: we all played super well and met some cool people, and saw a few really, really good curlers. Anyway, first of all, heads up to Mel: Get well soon, or be forever damned to the depths of one half of your living room couch, while the other half is occupied by Sherman. Feel better.
Other than that I've been working and "preparing" for Freshman Orientation (Frosh ROCK! cough cough). It's been... fun. But several people have given me the heads up to a few good sites, and I've stumbled upon a few good ones myself.
First of all, Kim pointed out the new Teen Girl Squad. Great stuff.
There is also this great blog, DFL, dedicated to final place winners at the Olympics. Very cool, and it proves some people really are more obsessed than me! Also, USA womens' soccer won gold... finally proving America might be coming to its senses (stupid American football).
Bah, I'm lazy now. Going camping, with Julie! Yay!

Good afternoon. No updates as of the moment, but I've got plenty of links to send you to (by the way, I hope you all checked out Making Fiends...). First of all, in the interesting news category, a black bear in Washington was found passed out after drinking dozens of cans of Rainier beer, and a man attempted to auction off his bald head on eBay as ad space to make money. Too bad eBay was a whore and cancelled it.
And then there's my Olympic obsessive compulsive link for the day... I hope you all know that Paul Hamm won a gold last night in Men's Gymnastics, and if you were not watching you should be ashamed! It's going to be one of Athen's most memorable moments... and this is where I admit I'm obsessed. But you all knew that. But you can see some more happy pictures here. They update it daily with more pictures, so you have to click on the August 18th link to see the happy Paul Hamm pictures. Woot!

Morning. We had good fun at curling camp this last weekend... learned some good strategy, forced Mel to throw the last shot at the "shootout", found out there are actually curling trading cards, and saw Todd. Woot. And Rice Lake is this weekend. It'll be good fun, even though we will be smashed. Good stuff. I still didn't finish off my camera, so no pictures of the 400 Block Rock yet.
Anyway, I did find a rather entertaining site, called Making Fiends. Pretty funny little Flash episodes, kind of like Homestar Runner if you are familiar with that, which you all are. Good stuff. And then another link to a Candian wearing a tutu at the Olympics. As the pasttime stealing Aussies say, G'day.

Early Morning... I should be sleeping. Nevertheless, I'm up. Exciting news: Got my Dell DJ today, super fun stuff. Thanks to Casey for recommending that one. Not exciting news: Ben Folds ep got pushed back to the 24th, so I'm only getting the 3 of them two weeks from now. But Curling camp and Rice Lake is coming up, it should be good fun.
But I must say it has been a good week because I have received no surprise visits. Very good week indeed. And I did finally learn how to play Risk, it's good fun. But I'm also kind of sad because I feel like I'm being pushed away by someone, I feel really out of it at the moment, like everyone knows something and I don't. Maybe I'm being too dramatic, darn it all.
But I did find an amusing link that has some info on the new "mascots" for the Olympics, although I feel kind of bad because it seems like everyone has been ripping Athens apart as if saying "You suck at hosting the Olympics". But come on, read the article, and you'll get what I'm saying. And a few days ago I found this really funny article about someone getting his penis chopped off by a bear trap at a urinal (it was satire, for all those cringing out there). However inappropriate it was, I was going to post it because it was hilarious but lost the link. Yeah, that was a random few sentences. Other than that I think I'm done. This was a long post.

Morning... I added Casey's xanga link to the right. You must all tell me when you make your new bloody journals, you expect me to find them myself? Anyway... off to work, have a good one.

For all of our Scrabble lovers... an entertaining article.

Morning... Nothing much to say, but I did add Mel and Becky's Xanga websites under Blogs to Visit (they aren't actually blogs... but a lot better than live journals...). And speaking of live journals... I should probably tell who you I was making fun of before, I forgot Mel was the only in one in on that. The one who took the most hits is Shanna's, who's actual title is "Life Sucks". It's a really bitter little thing, but recent posts are rather disturbing...
And I also tried to scream at two people I thought I knew well who've decided that pot, drinking, and randomly making it out is great... bah. That's all I have to say.

Sunday, August 1
Evening all... 400 Block Rock was one of the most memorable nights of this summer. We were skanking to Chris and Becky's ska band at the 400 Block, and they did very well, especially Becky who just learned the songs. After that we decided that it would be good fun to come have a welcome back party for Kim in the West parking lot, so we fetched Erik's van and skanked some more there, waiting for the French trip bus to come. They looked pretty confused/pissed/tired as they drove up to a large crowd randomly dancing in the parking lot. I do have a feeling we pissed off quite a few of them, but they were just in France and probably caught on to some of that "constantly pissed" attitude. Oh well, if Kim hadn't been so jet-lagged she probably would have jammed some more with us, but she did beat down on Mel, and I'm sure she appreciated our enthusiasm, even if the others didn't. After that we decided on ice cream at Annies, and that involved me taking one of their glasses of water outside and dumping it on my head. It was all good fun, even though I'll have to deal with comments from Torkelson when school starts...

Today I had good fun bringing the ghetto truck over to Mel's to have her brother move his futon to his new apartment. Very amusing. Good luck to Mel, by the way, in her church league softball tournament. Now for bed... goodnight all.
